Rockford Register Star Endorses Ives

“If you really want to shake up Springfield, Ives is your candidate.”

March 10, 2018 – The Rockford Register Star announced its endorsement of Jeanne Ives in the GOP primary for governor.

In endorsing Ives, the RR Star editorial board wrote, “If you really want to shake up Springfield, Ives is your candidate.”

The board cited Ives “realistic” perspective on the state’s numerous challenges, noting her advocacy of school consolidation and policy prescription for the state’s pension crisis.”

“Ives has legislative experience, unlike Gov. Bruce Rauner, and knows how to get things done in Springfield,” the editorial board noted. “Rauner had his chance. Republicans should give Jeanne Ives a chance by voting for her on March 20.”

“I am thrilled to have received the endorsement of the Rockford Register Star,” said Ives. “The paper serves hard working families and businesses who have been hurt by the policy choices of Chicago politicians, including Governor Rauner. They understand that Illinois families are ready for real conservative leadership now.”
